Healthcare support services play a vital part in the smooth running of healthcare services. Individuals undertaking this framework may have a wide range of job roles e.g. porter, housekeeper, catering manager, medical records clerk, estate manager etc. The Healthcare Support Certificate included within this framework has been designed in consultation with the healthcare sector including Skills for Health, so that it is flexible enough to cater for a broad range of roles.

The Level 2 Certificate in Health Care Support Services is ideal for anyone working in the following roles: Healthcare Support Service Worker, Ward Clerk and Medical / Health Records Clerk.
Whilst there are no specific entry requirements to this course, learners should show enthusiasm for working within the health sector, have basic numeracy and literacy skills, have a suitable level of fitness and be willing to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Furthermore, learners need to be flexible as there may be a requirement to work a shift pattern.
