It is estimated that 1 in 10 of us could be subject to a food borne illness each year, resulting in a huge drain on NHS resources and thousands of working days lost; not to mention the potentially life-threatening effect on the individuals concerned. Working with People 1st (the sector skills council for catering and hospitality) and Ofqual, Rewards Training has developed a tailored set of food safety qualifications to meet the precise needs of employers in the catering and hospitality sector.
This course is designed to help those with a responsibility for managing food safety in a catering environment. It is essential that those with this level of responsibility are fully aware of the potential risks their operation might pose to public health and to be able to assure that the highest possible food safety standards are maintained.
It is recommended that those taking this course have already completed the Level 3 Award in Food Safety in Catering. A good understanding of English is essential. The course is suitable for food handlers with managerial responsibility or those involved in quality assurance processes.
