 COACHING PROFESSIONAL: THE ROLE

. Coaching is a way of treating people, a way of thinking and a way of being which is seen as vital to supporting individuals and organisations in increasingly volatile and ever-changing environments. The underlying and ever present purpose of coaching is building the self-belief of others, regardless of the context, to be curious and self-aware, better equipping them to collaborate, innovate, deal with the increasing pace of change and get the best from increasingly diverse environments. Effective coaching is future focussed, releases potential, and enables transition, transformation and change for business improvement. Understanding self, commitment to self development, managing the contract, building the relationship, enabling insight and learning, outcome and action orientation, use of models and techniques and evaluation are key overarching areas which feature within this occupational area.

ABOUT THIS APPRENTICESHIP

This apprenticeship is for you if you in your daily work interact with coaches as your primary contact, bringing a fresh, independent perspective to support the individual/team/organisation with the development of its people. In moving organisations towards net zero carbon emissions by 2050 and embedding sustainability, an apprentice in this occupation may need to coach employees at all levels through change that impact on them.

  • Qualification Topics

    • Plan, conduct and record coaching needs analyses to inform their coaching practice, coaching strategy and the organisation's coaching culture.
    • Effective and responsive coaching sessions & coaching models and theories.
    • Variety of coaching tools and techniques and/or psychometrics to challenge/support,analyse and enable learning and insights.
    • Theories of learning and reflective practice such as Kolb, Gibbs, Schon.
    • Theories of emotional and social intelligence.
    • Theories of increased self-awareness, unconscious competency and feedback types.
    • Relevant legislation and regulations, including Diversity and Inclusion.
    • Theories of return on investment and delivery of value.
    • Basic schools of psychology and neuroscience.
    • Theories of motivation and self actualisation.
  • What's Involved

    • On the job skills training 
    • Off the job skills training 
    • Level 2 Functional Skills in English & Maths
    • Portfolio evidence support 
    • Planning, Target Setting and Feedback 
    • Mock End Point Assessments

     End Point Assessment (after at least 12 months and successful completion of the above)

    • 2 x 1 hrs Observation on 2 coaches with questions and answers 

    60 min Interview supported by portfolio of evidence

     90 min Knowledge test

     The overall grade is based on the combination of

     performance in all assessment activities


Duration

This Apprenticeship is typically completed in 14 months.

Delivery

Delivered online with remote support from Rewards Training throughout the apprenticeship.

Progression

Apprentices may choose to undertake ILM Qualifications to support their professional career development and progression.
