ADULT CARE WORKER: THE ROLE

Adult Care Workers are the frontline staff helping adults with care and support needs to achieve their personal goals and live as independently and safely as possible, enabling them to have control and choice in their lives which is at the heart of person-centred care. 


Job roles are varied and determined by the type of service being provided and person being supported. This apprenticeship is for you if you are interested in roles in the Healthcare sector such as Care Worker, Personal Assistant, Domiciliary Care Worker, Community Support and Outreach Worker, etc.

Achievement of this Apprenticeship provides the first step in a career as a professional Adult Care Worker.

    • National standards and legislation, policies and guidance, organisational policies and

    • The signs and types of abuse and neglect and ways to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect of

    • informed decisions about their needs.

    • Off the job skills training 
    • Level 1 and Level 2 Functional Skills in English and Maths
    • Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate

Duration

This Apprenticeship is typically completed in 9 months.

Delivery

Delivered online with remote support from Rewards Training throughout the apprenticeship.

Progression

Progression is likely to be into a Lead Adult Care Worker role.
